EU AI Act: high-risk deadlines postponed to December 2027, but the transparency rules went live today

What was actually delayed is the Annex III high-risk regime, pushed from today to 2 December 2027. Article 50 — the duty to disclose AI-generated content — took effect on schedule. If you sell into the EU, or your Saudi system serves a subsidiary there, that duty is live now and the reprieve you were told about does not cover it.

Local content weighting enters the financial evaluation of consulting and IT tenders from April 2027

Management consulting also carries a 30% company-level minimum, and missing it means exclusion at technical evaluation rather than a lower score. Work being priced today for multi-year delivery will be delivered under rules that have not started yet.
